If you’re traveling from Phuket, the flight duration is approximately 1.5 hours, offering a convenient and cost-effective travel option.

Upon arrival at Krabi Airport, you have the choice between a shared van or private transfer to your accommodation.

Opting for the shared van, I found it surprisingly comfortable with its leather seats and well-air-conditioned interior. The journey to our hostel took around 30 minutes, with drop-off directly at the doorstep, all for just 90 Baht!

In scenarios where you travel from Phuket first, consider taking the shared van from the bus terminals to Krabi.

Phuket has two bus terminals, and the journey takes about 3 hours. However, note that the bus terminal might be distant from most accommodations, requiring a cab ride or a walk. The shared van service costs 140 Baht.

For those staying in Ao Nang, the process is quite similar. Take the shared van from the airport to Ao Nang for a slightly higher price of 110 Baht.

If you’re traveling from Phuket, inform the receptionist that you’re headed to Ao Nang, as the two locations are in close proximity.

Indulge in the Krabi Hot Springs

Commence your day by unwinding at Klong Thom Hot Springs. A natural hot spring in Krabi renowned for its soothing properties. An ideal way to kickstart your morning.

Adjacent to the hot springs, a man-made pool has been constructed to accommodate more visitors seeking relaxation amidst the picturesque surroundings. Immerse yourself in the serenity of the hot springs, surrounded by verdant greenery, offering a serene escape.

When you opt for a day trip, enjoy the convenience of complimentary transportation to and from Ao Nang.

Alternatively, if you’re driving from Krabi Town or Ao Nang Beach, head east to access the hot springs.

Note that the hot springs are situated approximately 50km from Krabi City. Exercise caution if you’re driving in Thailand for the first time.

Remember to bring 100 Baht per person for the entrance fee and an additional 10 Baht for parking. If you plan to visit the Emerald Pool, allocate an extra 200 Baht for admission.

At the temple’s base, various attractions await, including an artificial waterfall, a cafeteria, and temples.

The highlight, however, lies atop the temple, accessible via a 1,200-step staircase. Note: This climb is not suitable for all travelers due to its physical demands.

Morning visits are advisable for a cooler climate and gentler sunlight compared to the scorching tropical conditions in the afternoon. The ascent typically takes around 20-40 minutes.

To combat dehydration, carry a water bottle, although you’ll find a water station at the temple’s summit for refills.

Upon arrival, remember to remove your shoes for temple exploration. You could easily spend around 45 minutes admiring the panoramic views from the top.

Exercise caution around the monkeys, refraining from touching or feeding them, especially near mothers with offspring.
